This is a bug in the post-install script, where youre getting whatever Oracle gave you. Formerly known as Sun VirtualBox, the base package of the virtualization tool is free to download and use. Installing virtualbox-ext-pack broke my system, hanging waiting on a 'license agreement' - with no way to 'agree'.

Interface: IExtPackManager Įven after power off of VM's and restarting the host OS, I get this similar error code. virtualbox-ext-pack downloads the 'real' file from Oracles VirtualBox website. Vermagic: 5.0.0-37-generic SMP mod_unload I was able to install the Extension Pack (I always download and import it manually into VirtualBox), and also install it in a Ubuntu (18 pc064) guest: uname cat /etc/lsb-release | grep DESCRĭISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 18.04.3 modinfo vboxguestįilename: /lib/modules/5.0.0-37-generic/misc/vboxguest.koĭescription: Oracle VM VirtualBox Guest Additions for Linux ModuleĪlias: pci:v000080EEd0000CAFEsv00000000sd00000000bc*sc*i*

The problem is that the Win executable build number was bumped to 13566 3 after 135662 was published (I assumed because of a bug that turned out to be showstopper), but the displayed URL was not updated accordingly.Ī bit of Google search revealed that my assumption was correct: there was a problem with the Extension Pack ( Guest Additions) in the previous build ( 135662).
